Matthew M. Loker has wanted to be an attorney for as long as he can remember. Drawn early to advocacy and the power of the law to level the playing field, Matt pursued that calling at the University of Toledo, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Social Thought with a concentration in Spanish. Life took a pivotal turn when Matt met his wife, Kim—a California native—while studying abroad in Alicante, Spain. Following both love and opportunity, Matt moved west to attend California Western School of Law in San Diego. During law school he quickly emerged as a leader among his peers, serving as President of the Entertainment & Sports Law Society and Vice President of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society. His academic work earned multiple recognitions, including the Academic Achievement Award and the Telecommunications Award. After graduating, Matt joined one of the nation’s leading consumer protection firms, where he rapidly rose through the ranks and became a Partner. Through that work, he developed a passion for representing everyday people against powerful financial institutions and corporations. In 2019, Matt founded Loker Law, APC with a mission to fight for consumers who have been wronged by identity theft, inaccurate credit reporting, and unfair debt collection practices. Under his leadership, the firm has built a reputation for aggressive advocacy and meaningful results for victims of financial wrongdoing. Beyond the courtroom, Matt is committed to mentoring the next generation of lawyers and currently teaches Contracts to first-year law students at the San Luis Obispo College of Law. When he is not practicing law, Matt enjoys exploring California’s Central Coast with his daughters, Charley and Hazel, often hiking local trails and soaking in the region’s natural beauty. He is also an avid gamer and appreciates the strategic thinking and problem-solving that both video games and the practice of law demand.
