Time to DROP Everything

The California Delete Act introduces the Delete Request and Opt-Out Platform (DROP), a centralized mechanism that allows California residents to submit a single request directing registered data brokers to delete their personal information. Beginning August 1, 2026, data brokers must be able to receive and process these requests at scale, with strict deadlines and significant penalties for noncompliance.

This session will break down how the DROP system works, who qualifies as a data broker, key compliance dates, and what organizations should be doing now to prepare for the new deletion request framework.
